BINTANGO – Indonesian Vocabulary Learning App for Japanese Users
📌 Project Overview
BINTANGO is a mobile flashcard app designed for Japanese users—whether they live in Indonesia, are learning the language, or planning a trip. It delivers Indonesian–Japanese vocabulary learning on-the-go with intuitive progress tracking and dictionary features.
🧩 Client’s Challenge
While interest in Indonesia was growing among Japanese learners, existing vocabulary tools were either too complex or lacked device portability. The client requested a simple, engaging, and accessible solution to make vocabulary learning easy and enjoyable.
🛠 Our Approach
- Built with Flutter, enabling cross-platform deployment for both iOS and Android
- Simplified UI/UX design to support daily, bite‑sized learning sessions
- Developed core features: vocabulary flashcards, Japanese–Indonesian dictionary lookup, and weak-word marking with review reminders
- Implemented progress tracking to encourage continued use and motivate learners
- Delivered the project end-to-end — from concept and design to development and maintenance
📈 Outcome
- Achieved 20,000+ cumulative downloads on Google Play by June 2025 Google Play
- Secured over 20,000+ downloads on the Apple App Store (JP)
- Positive user feedback: considered “essential for students and Indonesia enthusiasts”
- Future roadmap includes phrase learning modules and pronunciation feedback features
